Charolais Information

ABOUT CHAROLAIS CATTLE

Charolais are a Majestic White Cow. At birth they average 70 to 85 pounds which adds to the ease of calving. The adults average between 1500 to 2500 pounds. They stand 6 feet at the shoulders. The mothers are very protective of their calves and have been known to band together to chase predators away from the herd. The Charolais are a hearty breed that are resistant to PINK EYE. The calves are born at a LOW WEIGHT and have a RAPID GROWTH RATE with an excellent feed to growth ratio. Several of our bull calves have been "Test Feed Proven" at a Feed to Weight Ratio of 6:1 (6# of feed makes 1# of Beef). The Charolais is a very LEAN animal, which produces an extremely PALATABLE beef.

After 28 years of raising and working with Charolais I can not find any negative qualities.
